Three Unconventional Ways you Can Energise Yourself
In this podcast episode Leanne talks about three things you can do to energise yourself. They’re not the conventional things such as food and movement. All three things are free. So they’re entirely democratically available. They can be done anywhere by anyone and you don’t need any equipment, no app, no equipment, nothing. You just need yourself and a handful of minutes.
Topics Discussed in this Episode:
- The Power Pose
- Breathwork or Box Breathing
- Consciously Practising Gratitude
Key Takeaways:
Taking as little as two minutes out of your day you can energise, de-stress or come around from a negative state.
The Power Pose is a great way to energise plus is proven to positively impact on your hormone levels. A good time to do this is lunchtime or in between meetings.
Breathwork or breathing techniques like Box Breathing are such an effective way of getting you from a sympathetic stress state to a parasympathetic rested state. Breathing in a conscious and structured way can leave you feeling refreshed and energised.
Both Oprah Winfrey and Tony Robbins are advocates of concentrated on gratitude, it can transform your day and give you a little shot of energy, any point in the day when you consciously practise gratitude. And here’s the thing you can’t be grateful and anxious at the same time, you can’t be grateful and angry at the same time. Can’t be grateful but depressed at the same time, it’s simply impossible to be in those two states at the same time. For that moment you have been able to consciously actively change your state.
Action Steps:
Think about the times of day you can take two minutes out to energise with the Power Pose, perhaps two minutes before that next meeting for a boost of energy.
Take 10 minutes at any time of the day to do some structured breathwork, planned or in the moment. It’s a perfect if you want to get a bit of headspace, when you want to relax, or to de-stress into a more balanced state and better frame of mind.
Gratitude is a wonderful way of taking yourself out from a negative state, so make time each day, even if only for a few moments, and practise conscious gratitude,.
