Get on your bikes and ride!


It’s National Cycle To Work Day on 15th August. Maybe you’re a bit curious about cycling. Maybe you used to be a cyclist or you do cycle fairly regularly, but it’s a day the nation is encouraged to get on their bikes and ride. So dust off your bike and see how you fancy it.

Our route to work is a seven-minute walk, so it’s not really worth getting on my bike. But what I love to do which is a slight alternative to cycling, is do a spin class. Maybe today is the day that you try your first spin class.

If you’re London-based, Psycle London is a great place to start. We absolutely love the studio there, and there’s spin classes in gyms all over the country. Wherever you’re reading this, I’m sure there’ll be a spin class that you can get to.

So either take the real thing, or get yourself on a spin class, and feel what it’s like to be on a bike, getting fresh oxygenated blood pumping through the body and Neurogenesis – the creation of new brain cells through exercise.

Lots of energy, lots of vitality, and feeling really good about getting the heart rate up. And of course, if you’re cycling, you’re actually getting yourself from A to B.

I know a lot of people that cycle, it’s actually quicker than the bus or train. Go and get the benefits of cycling – enjoying yourself in the open air, and actually moving your legs and getting the blood moving around the body.
