Authenticity For Wellbeing

Authenticity for Wellbeing: post-it on computer screen reads "be yourself" by Bodyshot Performance.

It’s the last Thrive in Five of 2022, and this one is a little more esoteric than usual. Regardless, I wanted to share this observation because I believe it could be helpful to anyone. 2022 has been phenomenally successful for us: we’ve done over 40 keynotes and more workshops than ever before. My book, Cadence, has been a huge hit, and I was runner-up for three London Speaker Awards in November. And what I’ve noticed over the last year, with all that has gone on, is that authenticity is the key.

Find Your Groove

It really is as simple as it sounds: I’ve settled into myself more, found my groove, dress the way I want, wear my hair how I like it. Lots of other things have happened, too, that means that when I present or talk to others, I’m more natural. As a result, I’ve found that people have connected more with it. Nowadays, there is so much content online, so many people fighting for your attention, that it’s the real stuff that is managing to cut through. And I think it’s because people are starved of that.

Be Your True self

Now, I’m not talking about reality TV, because we all know that isn’t real. Instead, I mean authenticity in terms of a person sharing a message that they’re living and breathing themselves. For example, trying to connect with others rather than just preaching to them, sharing ideas or anecdotes they can relate to. And it’s exactly that which has been hugely successful for us this year. If you can tap into that authenticity and really show your personality and just be your true self, next year will likely be even more successful for you as well.

So, that’s it from us in 2022. I’d just like to thank everyone who has read these blogs over the course of the year for your support. We hope you have an amazing holiday time, and look forward to seeing you in the new year.
